The Egyptian
Society for Pediatric Dentistry and
those with Special Needs was founded in
2003 by a group of highly professionally and
socially active professors of pediatric dentistry in
Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine, Cairo University.
This society is the only dental body involved in
improving the oral health status of children with
special needs.
Children
with special needs cannot usually express what they feel
or point out their complaint. They hope only to live
without suffering dental pain. Our concern is to provide
them with a simple pain free life through oral health
education and high quality oral rehabilitation and a
long term follow-up and attractive motivation to guard
against the development of dental problems in the
future.
We are
trying to listen to their silent screaming as well as
their parents and provide them with pain control and
relief as much as possible. Some parents are denied
access to treat their children because of financial
barrier. Collected donations are directed to their
support in having the necessary treatment.
One of the
most important objectives of our society is the
improvement oral and dental health knowledge through
symposiums, conferences (national, regional and
international) and training courses for pediatric
dentists. |
